Who is Rahul Sir?
When it comes to UPSC preparation, finding a mentor who understands the journey beyond just books and strategies is rare. Rahul Sir is one such mentor — not just a teacher but someone who has walked the challenging path of UPSC preparation himself. With over 10 years of UPSC experience and a deep understanding of the exam’s unpredictability, Rahul Sir has trained hundreds of students across multiple coaching institutes in Navi Mumbai, transforming aspirants into confident individuals ready to face the toughest exams.
A Journey Built on Perseverance
Rahul Sir’s UPSC journey began on 9th December 2013, at the age of 20, inspired by his father, a police officer, and a deep desire to serve the nation. Like many aspirants, his path was filled with challenges, setbacks, and life lessons. In his first attempt (2015), despite his seriousness, the lack of guidance while preparing on his own in Mumbai led to a failure in Mains. But this setback was just the beginning.
In his second attempt (2016), he cleared both Prelims and Mains, confidently reaching the interview stage. Convinced he had cracked it this time, Rahul Sir had even made arrangements to celebrate the result at his native place. However, when the final list came out on 31st May 2017, his name was not on it. The shock was devastating.
Resilience in the Face of Adversity
With just two weeks left for the next Prelims (18th June 2017), Rahul Sir hadn’t opened a single book or newspaper since his interview on 6th April. Yet, he refused to give up. Battling sleep deprivation and immense pressure, he pushed himself through an intense preparation phase. He cleared Prelims but once again fell short in Mains, this time due to a lack of writing practice.
His fourth attempt in 2018 turned out to be a curveball — a tricky Prelims that caught him off guard. He couldn’t clear it. After four continuous attempts, his family urged him to take a break, and he pursued an MBA in International Business from Symbiosis, Pune.
A Story of Comebacks
Despite the rigorous MBA schedule, Rahul Sir couldn’t let go of his UPSC dream. In his fifth attempt (2019), he pushed himself once again. Against all odds, he cleared Prelims, Mains, and reached the interview stage on 18th March 2020. But when the results came out on 4th August 2020, his name was missing from the list once again.
After years of preparation and five sincere attempts, Rahul Sir’s journey had taught him that UPSC is not just an exam — it’s a test of patience, resilience, and perspective.
